The Country Just Grew Up

Our country just grew up and grew a pair. A major political party has just decided on its nominee for President, and it's an African-American male. Our elders and some contemporaries will tell you this could not happen. But Sen. Barack Obama is a political leader unlike those we've become accustomed to. Listen closely when he speaks and you hear much common sense amidst the soaring rhetoric. Iowa was the template for his ascendancy. It's a lilywhite state and he won big; in fact, Obama won 20 contests against formidable Democratic opposition. There's still a long way to go but you can help make it happen. Then, years later, you can say I helped make history happen.
